Why I like white fillings.....
..actually they are not white. They are tooth coloured fillings because teeth are not white - anything but white. A pure white filling would stand out like a sore thumb if the tooth itself is not pure white, and so for this reason a properly placed filling should be invisible and not draw attention to itself. The correct name for them is 'composite restorations' and 'glass ionomer restorations'. At Haynesdental we only place white fillings.

The Team
We look forward to welcoming you here at Haynesdental - please read on for further information about some members of the team who will be looking after you.
Dentists
Dr Peter Haynes BDS (London)

Peter has been a practising dentist for 38 years and has a wealth of experience in dentistry. There is not an oral health problem that he hasn't seen or treated! Peter continually develops his dental practice and started doing implants in 2002 - since then he has placed hundreds. In his 38 years in general dental practice, Peter has seen a shift away form the fitting of dentures and now rarely has to fit false teeth. Many of our patients have been with us since the beginning and we are proud to say nearly all of them keep their teeth for life.
Peter Haynes is co-owner of the practice with Luke Lucas. Peter qualified in 1970 and his first job was here working at the dental practice with Tom Mead in August 1970. Tom had established the practice on this site in 1958. Tom and Peter worked togther for 13 years until Tom retired and Peter took over the practice in 1983. 2010 will be Peter's 40th year at the surgery!
Dr Luke Lucas BDS (London) DGDP (UK)

Registered as a Clearstep (invisible braces) practitioner Luke is interested in all aspects of modern dentistry encompassing a multi-disciplinary approach including dental acupuncture. As a Member of the Association for Dental Implantology Luke has been placing implants for over 6 years and really enjoys it! Luke qualified from Guy's Hospital in 1993 and has been at Haynesdental since 1997. He started off as an Associate Dentist and liked it so much he became co-owner in 2007. Luke is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and the British Society for Dental Sleep Medicine (BSDSM). As such, Luke is really keen to get his patients sleeping well by helping them with their snoring problems - a problem that can be alleviated with the right dental treatment.
Dr Emily Parikh BDS (London) MFGDP (UK)

Emily qualified at the British Dental School at Guys in 1999 and has been at the practice since 2006. After qualifying Emily worked in General Dental Practice in several surgeries in London and then went to Brisbane in Australia to work in a Government Dental Clinic. Emily is a Member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (MFGDP) and since coming to Haynesdental she has become a member of the British Society for Dental Sleep Medicine. Emily really enjoys working in dental practice where she meets a variety of people. Emily believes in preventive dentistry with the minimal amount of invasive dentistry where possible. She is also especially good with nervous patients and children.
